For the first time ever, an Abkhazian citizen has been accused of treason. Twenty-eight-year-old Tkuarchal (Tkvarcheli) native Daur Buava is alleged to have campaigned for ‘the annexation of Abkhazia to Georgia’ on social media. Buava was convicted in absentia.
