An opposition figure accused of trying to pay students to take part in anti-government protests has been released on bail after spending two-and-a-half months in pre-trial detention. Avetik Chalabyan was detained in mid-May after footage emerged in which he appeared to offer small bribes to students from the Agrarian University of Armenia to take part in protests. Armenian government U-turns on expelling opposition MPs

The ruling Civil Contract Party has backed down from a decision to begin stripping all but three opposition MPs of their seats over their ‘unjustified absences’ from parliament. Police confront protesters as thousands take to the streets in Yerevan

Armenian Police have used force to prevent protesters from blocking streets in Yerevan, with over 200 detained so far. Over 10,000 people gathered at the capital’s France Square on Sunday to demand Pashinyan’s resignation.
