Armenian police ‘forced Ingush domestic abuse victim to meet family’

An Ingush domestic abuse victim seeking asylum in Armenia was allegedly temporarily placed in police custody after being reported missing by her uncle, who rights groups claim was allowed to meet her at the police station. A Chechen woman who fled Chechnya for fear of her life was reportedly abducted from her Saint Petersburg home and detained in Grozny on theft charges. Civil rights activists warn that she might be murdered in her home republic. European court rules against Georgia in femicide case

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled that Georgia failed to prevent and investigate an instance of femicide, and ordered the state to pay compensation to the family of the victim. Chechen woman ‘fleeing domestic abuse’ detained at Moscow airport

A young Chechen woman believed to be a victim of domestic abuse has been detained by Chechen law enforcement officers at a Moscow airport. Selima Ismailova, 20, was detained at the Vnukovo Airport in Moscow on Monday. Man allegedly burns ex-wife to death in western Georgia

A man in Terjola, western Georgia, has been accused of murdering his ex-wife and injuring several others after pouring petrol over her and setting her on fire. The attack reportedly took place late on Thursday night at a supermarket where the woman worked late shifts as a manager.  According to TV Mtavari, the man attacked his former partner before locking her in a room and killing her.
